Happy autumn! ππ
I’m SO EXCITED that my FAVORITE season is here!
What do you look forward to doing this autumn?
I have been enjoying walking around and taking in all the BEAUTIFUL changing leaves. π§‘
I recently heard the song “Autumn Leaves” by Nat King Cole, and I thought it was PERFECT for this week’s post.
Lyrics:
The falling leaves drift by the window
The autumn leaves of red and gold
I see your lips, the summer kisses
The sun-burned hands I used to hold
Since you went away the days grow long
And soon I’ll hear old winter’s song
But I miss you most of all my darling
When autumn leaves start to fall
Since you went away the days grow long
And soon I’ll hear old winter’s song
But I miss you most of all my darling
When autumn leaves start to fall

I LOVE the imagery at the beginning of the song!
What do you imagine when you hear the first two lines?
I envision being cozy indoors while observing a strong wind blowing beautiful autumn colors about as I look out the window. β€οΈ
It makes me think about how although autumn can be quite cold, the beautiful colors the leaves paint on the ground and in the sky make the cold worth it.π§‘
Nat King Cole’s voice in this song is AMAZING!
What do you think of the song?
He’s singing about someone he misses. Does autumn make you think of anything or anyone that you miss?
When I was growing up, I LOVED when my grandparents would take me to the pumpkin farm every autumn. π
The farm had little exhibits that recreated scenes from Disney moviesβbut in a way that was different enough to not infringe on any copyrights. π€£
I hope this week’s song gets you PUMPED for the new season! π
May you appreciate the beauty around you! π
Wishing you well! π
