I was recently watching the The 1619 Project and enjoyed listening to Nikole Hannah-Jones talk about what a profound impact Motown music has had on the music scene in the United States and also her life.

She talked about how much her father loved Motown, especially The Temptations, and how whenever she listens to her father’s records, she always thinks of him.

She shared that one of her favorite songs by The Temptations is “Just My Imagination.” The person she was interviewing described “Just My Imagination” as a song that is as “soft” as “putting on a cashmere sweater.”

WOW! That is a beautiful way to describe the song. 💜
