Signor Ascolta

Here’s another edition of the Thursday Evening Post. 🎵

The arts are so impactful! 💜

Do you ever notice how your mood can completely change while listening to a beautiful song on the radio?

What do you notice happens to you when you see a beautiful work of art at a museum?

Music and art are so POWERFUL! 💙

Do you ever think about how many talented musicians/singers are out there who don’t have the opportunity to be on the radio or how many artists are out there who don’t have the opportunity to have their work displayed for worldwide adoration?

There are so many TRULY gifted people in our world!

I believe that we ALL have a special gift. 💜

What is yours?

Yours may not be related to music or art, but it still matters!

For example, maybe you are gifted at making people laugh! 💛

A truly gifted singer is someone that can move others even when she isn’t singing in a language her audience understands.

My dear friend Anna is an INCREDIBLE opera singer! I wish the world knew about her gift, and because of that, I wanted to share one of her performances with you.

Here is “Signor Ascolata” from the opera Turandot.

The first time I watched her performance, my jaw dropped! 😮

Anna’s voice was so incredible that it brought tears to my eyes! 💙

I told her that I didn’t understand Italian but that her performance was EXTREMELY moving! 💜

She summarized the song by telling me that her character was informing a love interest that she didn’t want him to accept a challenge that a princess posed because she was concerned that the challenge would lead to his death.

What do you think of the story the song tells?

What kind of opera music do you enjoy?

Wouldn’t the world become such a better place if we were all able to regularly share our gifts with one another?

I dedicate this post to my dear friend Anna and all those gifted individuals out there who the world doesn’t know about but should! ❤️

Your gifts matter! The way you share your gifts to move others matters!

Think about how you can share your gift with others today! 💚

If you’d like to support my mission to share my passion for music with the world and spread joy, love, and positivity, you can do so here. Thank you! 🩷
