Taking a Break at Six Flags Great America

I’ve hit a wall in the songwriting process, like I’ve done before. Unfortunately, you can’t make yourself feel inspired; it has to happen naturally. But since I have already finished writing 8 songs, I know I will be able to figure out how to finish 3 or 4 more songs.

To take a break from my writer’s block, on Saturday I traveled to Six Flags Great America, in Gurnee, Illinois, for Fright Fest.

I’ve gone to Fright Fest before and have enjoyed the experience there, except for the really long lines. However, on Saturday, it rained on and off, and the rain cleared out the park some. If you want to visit Fright Fest, my suggestion would be to go on a day that there is a chance of rain. (As a bonus, the dark skies help create a more spooky atmosphere at the park!) As long as you bring a poncho or umbrella, you will be fine! My other suggestion is, when it looks like it’s going to rain, head for the The Dark Knight indoor roller coaster πŸ™‚

I absolutely love Halloween, and Six Flags had awesome Halloween decorations and monsters. I wanted to share the photos with you. Enjoy πŸ™‚

Here are some photos from the “cemetery.”

I only found 6 of the deadly sins…I’m not sure where 7 was.

I had to include this bat decoration, as it made me remember the bat problem I was dealing with earlier this year.

Everything looks much more creepy at night!

Right before darkness fell, I captured this shot of the half moon.

If you haven’t been to Fright Fest yet, there is still time. It ends on October 27.

If you like Halloween, you will love Fright Fest πŸ™‚
