Tomorrow is another Live Music in the Lounge!
Live Music in the Lounge is when I perform for the students at the Wisconsin ESL Institute on their last day of classes.
Live Music in the Lounge started because of the students. When I first started teaching, I would bring my guitar to my classroom and play some songs for students. After a while, other students heard I was doing this and asked if I could perform in the lounge so that all the students, not just the ones I was teaching , could hear me perform.
The first time I performed in the lounge, I brought a bunch of sheet music and sat on a couch and performed a bunch of covers. I was nervous about performing for more people than my classes of ten students, so I wanted to have sheet music and the couch there as a safety. 😉
The students really liked it!
Some of them even started dancing.
The students wanted it to happen more, so I decided to have Live Music in the Lounge every session. It became a big party, where I would put out a bunch of snacks and perform standing without the help of the sheet music. (I became more brave!)
I often performed covers that the students requested and some of my original songs.
I was performing every last day of classes, until over a year ago, when things got too busy to have it. 😦
The students are very overdue for another one!
I love Live Music in the Lounge because it gives me an opportunity to perform, and I LOVEÂ performing!
Tomorrow I will be performing songs from my debut album, TEMPTATION at the Wisconsin ESL Institute, at 12:30pm. It’s free, and it will last about a half hour.
I’ll bring some copies of TEMPTATION that you can purchase for $10.Â
I’m excited for Live Music in the Lounge tomorrow! 🙂
