ABBA Helped My Swedish

During my first year of college, I decided to study Swedish. My TA told our class that listening to music in Swedish would help strengthen our pronunciation and listening skills. In fact, every Friday, my TA would pass out lyrics and have us sing along to a Swedish song. I loved it! ❀ πŸ™‚

One of my FAVORITE songs that we sang in class was ABBA’s “SOS.”

I enjoyed the song so much that I regularly listened to ABBA (in Swedish).

I couldn’t find an official music video in Swedish, but you can listen to the song here:

I firmly believe that listening to music in another language strengthens your pronunciation and listening skills. I am so glad that my TA taught me the value of listening to music in another language. πŸ™‚

Nowadays, my Swedish is a bit rusty, so it looks like it’s about time to bust out the ABBA. πŸ˜‰

Have you ever used music to learn another language?

Thoughts? Please post them :-)
