Happy Thursday! It’s so hard to believe Christmas Eve is only TWELVE days away! 😮 Is it just me, or does time fly by like crazy in December? 😉
In last week’s post, I wrote about how I’ve been enjoying watching Christmas movies, specifically the old ones! ❤
This week I watched the 1970 film Santa Claus is Comin’ to Town. Although Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer is my favorite old Christmas movie, I also really enjoy this one. 🙂
What I think is interesting about this film is that there are many songs in it that have nothing to do with Christmas. 😉
Take the song “Put One Foot in Front of the Other” for instance:
Lyrics:
Put one foot in front of the other
And soon you’ll be walking ‘cross the floor
Put one foot in front of the other
And soon you’ll be walking out the doorYou never will get where you’re going
If you never get up on your feet
Come on, there’s a good tail wind blowing
A fast walking man is hard to beatPut one foot in front of the other
And soon you’ll be walking ‘cross the floor
Put one foot in front of the other
And soon you’ll be walking out the doorIf you want to change your direction
If your time of life is at hand
Well don’t be the rule, be the exception
A good way to start is to standPut one foot in front of the other
And soon you’ll be walking ‘cross the floor
Put one foot in front of the other
And soon you’ll be walking out the doorIf I want to change the reflection
I see in the mirror each morn
(Oh you do!)
You mean that it’s just my election
(Just that!)
To vote for a chance to be rebornYou put one foot in front of the other
And soon you’ll be walking ‘cross the floor
You put one foot in front of the other
And soon you’ll be walking out the doorPut one foot in front of the other
And soon you’ll be walking ‘cross the floor
Put one foot in front of the other
And soon you’ll be walking out the door
This song is just about moving forward when things get tough. I LOVE IT! ❤ Kris Kringle and the Winter Warlock sing this song when the Winter Warlock decides that he wants to be good instead of evil because he was touched by the fact that Kris gave him a toy train. 😉 So cute! ❤
This song is a great motto to have when things are difficult, and it is a great way to remember that if you want to make a change, you just need to start somewhere. 🙂
If your life is super busy right now because the holidays are coming, just take a breath and remember to just “Put one foot in front of the other…” 😉 ❤
