I hope this post finds you well! ❤
This week, I am sharing another song that I hope you will find healing during this difficult time. ❤ (If you haven’t seen the other posts I have made to help boost your spirits during the COVID-19 pandemic, please check out “Don’t Worry Be Happy,” “Handwashing Songs,” “Everything’s Not Awesome.” and “Quarantine Song.”)
Practicing self-care is something that we should all do. Unfortunately, we have so many tasks we feel we need to complete in our fast-paced lives that we often don’t take the time to take care of ourselves.
Some of us have been staying at home to stop the spread of COVID-19, some of us have been providing essential services during this difficult time, and some of us have been on the front lines fighting this pandemic. Whatever your situation is, I hope that you can take time every day to practice self-care.
Even if you don’t have a lot of time to spare, it is important to make time for yourself. What is something that you can do today for yourself?
All of this suffering due to COVID-19 brings me immense sadness. Every day, I make sure to take some time to do at least one thing that brings me joy. Sometimes it is virtually connecting with others, sometimes it is doing one of my artistic hobbies, and sometimes it is just watching a movie that fills my heart with happiness.
This week I wanted to write about a film I recently saw that completely changed my day.
Disney’s Mulan was released in 1998, but believe it or not, I actually had never seen the film until just recently! 😮 I grew up watching Disney’s animated films, but for some reason, Mulan was one that I had never seen!
Thanks to Disney+, I was able to watch the film that all my friends told me was a great movie. They were right! 🙂
When I was growing up, Beauty and the Beast was my favorite Disney movie, so until recently if you had asked me what my favorite animated Disney film was, I would have told you it was Beauty and the Beast.
However, now that I’ve seen Mulan, I would have to change my answer to Mulan. 🙂
I was so moved by the entire film. ❤ Mulan had such a big heart and such a strong desire to help others. It was so inspiring to see her immense bravery, strength, and determination.
I was extremely moved when the song “Reflection” came on. I remember hearing Christina Aguilera’s version of the song on the radio, but I had never heard the version used in the movie. Here’s “Reflection” from the movie Mulan.:
I appreciate that the lyrics were in the video, so if you wanted to sing a long, you could. 😉
The vocalist for this song has such a beautiful voice! The lyrics for this song are so powerful. Can you think of a time that you were trying to be someone other than your true self?
Self-care is important to practice because not only are you taking care of yourself, you are also giving yourself time to figure out who you are and what your path in life is.
No matter what your situation is at this difficult time, I wish you the courage to stay true to yourself. ❤
May you stay safe and healthy! ❤
