Leaves That Are Green

Happy LAST day of September! 😮 I’m SO EXCITED that tomorrow is the first day of OCTOBER! 🎃 My FAVORITE month of the year is coming! 😀

Since autumn (my FAVORITE season ❤ ) started, I have been enjoying doing autumn activities. (Check out my Facebook page for some photos 😉 )

I’ve mentioned how much I LOVE hiking, and I have really enjoyed watching the leaves change color and float their way down to the ground as I hike. 🍂

Because I have been enjoying watching the leaves so much, the song I wanted to share this week is “Leaves That Are Green” by Simon and Garfunkel.

Lyrics:

I was twenty-one years when I wrote this song
I’m twenty-two now, but I won’t be for long
Time hurries on
And the leaves that are green turn to brown
And they wither with the wind
And they crumble in your hand
Once my heart was filled with the love of a girl
I held her close, but she faded in the night
Like a poem I meant to write
And the leaves that are green turn to brown
And they wither with the wind
And they crumble in your hand
I threw a pebble in a brook
And watched the ripples run away
And they never made a sound
And the leaves that are green turn to brown
And they wither with the wind
And they crumble in your hand
Hello, hello, hello, hello
Good-bye, good-bye, good-bye, good-bye
That’s all there is
And the leaves that are green turn to brown

Isn’t the song beautiful? ❤ How do you feel when you listen to it?

I actually only heard it for the first time this week. 😮

I remember reading a book on mindfulness that talked about how the changing seasons are a great reminder of the impermanence of life.

“Leaves That Are Green” also talks about this. Everything ages; everything changes.

Life is constantly full of change, and we must accept that and enjoy the ride. 😎

Enjoy each moment you have with the people, places, and things you love. ❤

Wishing you well! ❤
