Fallin’

Happy February! It’s time for songs about LOVE. ๐Ÿ’˜

One of the artists I LOVED listening to when I was growing up was Alicia Keys.๐ŸŽน I listened to her album, Songs in A Minor, over and over again! ๐Ÿ˜‰ My favorite song from that album was “Fallin’.”

Lyrics:

I keep on fallin’
In and out of love
With you
Sometimes I love ya
Sometimes you make me blue
Sometimes I feel good
At times I feel used
Lovin’ you darlin’
Makes me so confused
I keep on fallin’ in and out
Of love with you
I never loved someone
The way that I love you
Oh, oh, I never felt this way
How do you give me so much pleasure
And cause me so much pain? (Yeah, yeah)
Just when I think
I’ve taken more than would a fool
I start fallin’ back in love with you
I keep on fallin’ in and out
Of love with you
I never (uh huh) loved someone (someone)
The way that I (way I) love you (uh, uh)
Oh, baby
I, I, I, I’m fallin’
I, I, I, I’m fallin’
Fall, fall, fall (sing)
Fall
I keep on fallin’ in and out (out)
Of love (love) with you (with you)
I never (never) loved someone (loved)
The way that I (I) love you
I’m fallin’ in and out
Of love (of love) with you (with you)
I never (no) loved someone (no, no)
The way that I (uh) love you
I’m fallin’ in and out
Of love (of love) with you (with you)
I never (no) loved someone (no, no)
The way that I (uh) love you
What?

What do you think of the song?

I love that “Fallin'” is a song that most people can relate to. It is sung with such passion and accompanied by a beautiful, yet haunting, piano melody. I remember having so much fun learning the piano part on my kid keyboard. ๐Ÿ˜„

Whenever I’d listen to Alicia Keys’ album, I remember being entranced by her phenomenal voice and incredible piano skills. I admired the way she sang so powerfully and confidently. Although, I loved singing when I was growing up, I was often very shy when I sang in front of others. I wanted to be able to embody the confidence and strength I heard in Alicia Keys’ voice.

Whenever I sang the song “Fallin’,” I felt that it was possible to be a more confident singer. When I was in high school, I remember singing “Fallin'” at a fundraiserโ€”a Spaghetti Dinner or something like that. I remember being nervous about getting on stage to sing the song, but once I started singing and connecting with the music, I believed it was possible to become a confident and strong singer.

Are there any songs or musical artists that have inspired you?

Wishing you well! ๐Ÿ’œ
