All Alone on Christmas

It’s getting closer and closer to Christmas! 🎄

I’ve been enjoying watching my favorite Christmas-themed films.

I started the season off by watching my ABSOLUTE favorite Christmas movie, Elf. 🎅🏻

Since then, I’ve watched The Night Before, Home Alone, and Home Alone 2: Lost in New York.

In both The Night Before and Home Alone 2, I heard the same Christmas song, but it was one that I didn’t recognize.

I looked it up and found that it’s called “All Alone on Christmas” by Darlene Love.

I was hoping to find a video playing the song that showed clips from the movie, but unfortunately, all I had been able to find were videos that random users posted that featured an image from the movie and played the song without permission.

Since I was unable to find what I was looking for, I decided I would just post Darlene Love’s official music video for the song.

To my surprise, the official music video features clips from the song, AND it is SO ADORABLE. 😁

The video features Macaulay Culkin playing the role of a big shot at a recording studio, and the band is dressed up for Christmas. The video has SUCH great energy, and it makes me smile. 😊

Check it out!

Lyrics:

The cold wind is blowing and the streets are getting dark
I’m writting you a letter and I don’t know where to start
The bells will be ringing Saint John, The Divine
I get a little lonely every year around this time
The music plays all night in Little Italy
The lights will be going up on old Rockafella tree
People window shoppin’ on Fifth Avenue
All I want for Christmas is you
I’ve got to know
Nobody ought to be alone on Christmas
Where do lonely hearts go?
Nobody ought to be alone on Christmas
Because nobody ought to be all alone on Christmas
Things are different since you’ve been here last
Childhood dreaming is a thing of the past
Maybe you can bring some hope this year
Visions of sugarplums have disappeared
Do you remember sleigh ridin’ in the snow?
And dancin’ all night to “Baby, please come home”
Today’s celebration is bittersweet
There’s mothers and children in the street
I wanna know
Nobody ought to be alone on Christmas
Where do lonely hearts go?
Nobody ought to be all alone on Christmas
I’m all grown up, and it’s the same you’ll see
I’m writing you this letter, ’cause I still believe
Dear Santa, I’ve been good this year
Can’t you stay a little while with me right here?
I wanna know
Tell me
I wanna know
Where do lonely hearts go?
Nobody ought to be alone on Christmas
Because Nobody ought to be all alone on Christmas
Nobody ought to be all alone
Nobody ought to be alone on Christmas (all alone on Christmas)
Nobody ought to be alone (Tell me I’ve gotta know)

Here’s a photo I took of some GORGEOUS ornaments at the Christkindlmarket in ChicagoIL. Check out my post about that trip, here.

What do you think of the video? How do you like the song? I LOVE Darlene Love’s voice and passion in the song as well as the great tempo and instrumental parts. 🎵

Have you heard any Christmas songs recently that you really enjoyed?

Wishing you well! 💚
