Last Friday was another Live Music in the Lounge at WESLI, in Madison, Wisconsin.
I was super excited about this concert but also super nervous!

Jaymay’s “Gray or Blue”
Adele’s “Someone Like You” &
Jewel’s “Who Will Save Your Soul”

I also performed two of my original songs:
“Like They All Did” &
“Worth the Wait”
Currently, my only opportunities to perform for others are my Live Music in the Lounge concerts every other month. So, I am extremely grateful for these concerts! I am especially grateful for all of you who came to watch me perform last Friday! 🙂

Because I don’t play in front of large groups of people often, one of the main challenges I face is overcoming my stage fright. No matter how hard I practice, I’m always so afraid that I’m going to make mistakes when I perform live because I get so nervous. I’ve been looking into ways to deal with my stage fright. Fortunately, I found some useful advice from another WordPress blogger. Adam Rafferty created a post about dealing with stage fright called,“7 Tips for Dealing with Stage Fright and Nerves.” I found this post to be extremely helpful, especially the tips about focusing your energy on the present and relaxing when you do make a mistake. Whether or not you are a musician, if you experience stage fright, I strongly encourage you to check out Adam Rafferty’s post.

Like dealing with my perfectionism, dealing with my stage fright is just another challenge I need to overcome in order to share my music with the world.
