What’s Your Theme Song?

When you were a child and people would ask you, “What do you want to be when you grow up?” what did you say? I remember telling people that I wanted to be a singer and, at other times, that I wanted to be a teacher. I never anticipated that when I grew up, I would be able to be both!

If I had to choose a theme song for my life, I would choose Journey’s “Don’t Stop Believing.” I believe that if you put your mind to something, anything is possible. 😀

I began playing the flute in the 5th grade, but I never imagined that as an adult, I would play the acoustic, electric, and bass guitars, piano, the drums, and even the accordion! 😛 (Check out my post about the 2 teachers that inspired me to move forward with my music, here.)

When I was a child, and I told people that I wanted to be a singer, I had no idea that I would release an album and be performing at venues and wedding ceremonies! ❤

When I was a child and told people that I wanted to be a teacher, I had no idea that I would be teaching English to non-native English speakers and tutoring K-12 students through my own business (Allison Merten Editing & Tutoring, LLC)!

I am truly so grateful for what my life has become. I never gave up on my dreams and found a way to be both a singer and a teacher. 🙂

“Don’t Stop Believing” will continue to drive me forward in life. Working to achieve your goals and dreams might be HARD WORK, but it is NOT impossible!

What would you choose as the theme song for your life?

Thoughts? Please post them :-)
