Although I had been planning on doing performances this year, my main music goals have been working on writing new songs and posting videos of covers or originals at least once a month on my YouTube channel, AllysMusicRoom.

This weekend will be the first time I have performed this year, but it is not the kind of performance I thought I would do this year.

My cousin, a beautiful, young woman, with a heart of gold, with the sense of humor that could make an entire room burst into laughter, and with an extreme love for her country, which she expressed through her service in the US Army, unexpectedly passed away.

I feel so grateful to honor her by performing during the celebration of her life this weekend, but this will be the most difficult performance I’ve ever done.

I use music to express my feelings, and I’m working on a song for her. It’s not ready yet, but when it is, I will share it. Since her song isn’t ready yet, I would like to honor her through the song I wrote when I unexpectedly lost both my grandmother and aunt, “Goodbye.”

Make sure you let those you love know you love them because you never know when you might not get the chance to tell them one last time. ❤
