What Makes a Good Horror Theme Song?

Halloween is getting closer! 😮

This week, I wanted to share with you three of the horror movie theme songs that I think are the spookiest.

For a horror movie to be good, it has to be really scary and super creepy. For a horror movie to be even better, it should have a theme song that gives people goosebumps whenever they hear it!

Here are 3 theme songs from creepy horror movies that give me the goosebumps.

1. The Psycho theme song, by Bernard Herrmann:

Can anyone listen to this creepy song without thinking of that dreadful shower scene? o_O

2. A Nightmare on Elm Street theme song, by Charles Bernstein:

The song makes the listener feel like he/she is in a boiler room and Freddy is going to jump out at any moment! :/

3. The Friday the 13th theme song, by Harry Manfredini:

The “ch ch ch” throughout the song makes the listener think about the way Jason sneaks around before he strikes! 😮

What do you think are the creepiest horror theme songs?

If you’d like to see more posts about “spooky” songs, check out my post about the “Hearse Song,” here, the “Monster Mash,” here,  “Werewolves of London,” here, and “Spooky, Scary Skeletons,” here.

Thoughts? Please post them :-)
