How important are movie soundtracks to you? Do you think that a soundtrack can make or break a movie?
Since I LOVE music, the type of music included in a movie definitely influences my opinion of the movie and my ability to remember that movie.
The 1983 film, The Big Chill, is a very-well done film that I cannot forget because of its absolutely AMAZING soundtrack!
When I was in high school, I drove a car that had a cassette tape player. Not only was I excited about being able to drive, I was REALLY EXCITED about listening to music using the cassette player! 😀
I had some tapes, but I wanted to shake things up a bit. I asked my mom if she had any that I could borrow, and she gave me The Big Chill soundtrack, a cassette tape she had because she loved the songs from that film.
That soundtrack changed everything! 🙂
My sister and I regularly listened to that soundtrack on the way to school. Singing to the songs we became extremely familiar with and doing little dances to the songs made mornings so much easier! 😉 (I was not and still am not a “morning person.” 🙂 )
Whenever I hear one of the songs from The Big Chill soundtrack, I always think about the movie and also how that soundtrack helped make my mornings so much better!
Just in case you may not be aware of the songs on this AMAZING soundtrack, here’s the list:
“I Heard It Through The Grapevine” by Marvin Gaye
“My Girl” by The Temptations
“Good Lovin'” by The Rascals
“The Tracks Of My Tears” by Smokey Robinson
“Joy To The World” by Three Dog Night
“Ain’t Too Proud To Beg” by The Temptations
“(You Make Me Feel Like A) Natural Woman” by Aretha Franklin
“I Second That Emotion” by Smokey Robinson
“A Whiter Shade Of Pale” by Procol Harum
“Tell Him” by The Exciters
I had so much fun listening to the songs from this album while putting together this post. ❤ I think I need to go buy a copy of this album as cassette tapes are a little outdated. 😉
