It’s hard to believe that Christmas is only a little over a couple weeks away! 😮
One of my favorite Christmas songs that I wanted to write about this week is “A Holly Jolly Christmas” by Burl Ives.
Lyrics:
Have a holly, jolly Christmas
It’s the best time of the year
I don’t know if there’ll be snow
But have a cup of cheer
Have a holly, jolly Christmas
And when you walk down the street
Say hello to friends you know
And everyone you meet
Oh, ho the mistletoe
Hung where you can see
Somebody waits for you
Kiss her once for me
Have a holly, jolly Christmas
And in case you didn’t hear
Oh by golly have a holly jolly Christmas
This year(Have a holly, jolly Christmas
It’s the best time of the year)Have a holly, jolly Christmas
And when you walk down the street
Say hello to friends you know
And everyone you meet
Oh, ho the mistletoe
Hung where you can see
Somebody waits for you
Kiss her once for me
Have a holly, jolly Christmas
And in case you didn’t hear
Oh by golly have a holly jolly Christmas
This year
I love the song because it has such great energy, puts me in a feel-good mood, and is sung beautifully by Burl Ives! 🙂
Another reason I love this song is because it reminds me of the 1964 TV movie Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer.
My parents grew up watching that movie at Christmas time, so in turn, I watched that movie growing up around Christmas time. 😉
My favorite part of the movie is at the end of the film when “A Holly Jolly” Christmas is playing, and all the characters are celebrating. It’s so adorable! ❤
I love all the characters in the film. They’re so cute! Rudolph and Hermey are probably my favorites. ❤
Who’s your favorite character from the film?
I haven’t watched the movie yet this Christmas season, but this post reminds me that I need to do that! 😀
I love Hermey, the misfit elf who wants to be a dentist! 🙂
Thank you for sharing! Hermey is great! 🙂
