The Remedy (I Won’t Worry)

Happy New Year!

In honor of the New Year, I wanted to share my cover of “Auld Lang Syne.”

Let’s hope that 2021 brings this horrible pandemic to an end very soon!

The start of each year is a great time to reflect on what you liked about your life in the previous year and what you hope will be better in the new year. New Year’s resolutions are so important because they allow us to keep growing as human beings. ❤

What is your New Year’s resolution?

I have many New Year’s resolutions. In fact, I have written them down and posted them on my wall so that I can see them everyday. 🙂

(I’ve heard that having too many resolutions can be a problem, but many of mine are very simple. For example, practice German for 5 minutes a day. 😉 )

One of my New Year’s resolutions that I feel is extremely important is to make sure that no matter what happens, I live each day to the fullest. ❤

This is such a frightening time in our world, but other than wearing a mask, social distancing, and washing our hands, there isn’t much else we can do until the vaccine is available to everyone.

One thing that certainly won’t help during this pandemic is worrying. Worrying prevents us from living our life to the fullest. Worrying is merely just imagining worst case scenarios. Bad things happening in our imagination is NOT what our life is. REALITY is our life. If you spend time worrying, you are wasting precious moments of your life that you will be unable to get back.

The song that I want to share this week is “The Remedy (I Won’t Worry)” by Jason Mraz.

Lyrics:
Well I saw fireworks from the freeway
And behind closed eyes I cannot make them go away
‘Cause you were born on the fourth of July, freedom ring
Now something on the surface it stings
I said something on the surface
Well it kind of makes me nervous
Who says that you deserve this
And what kind of god would serve this?
We will cure this dirty old disease
Well if you’ve got the poison I’ve got the remedy
The remedy is the experience.
This is a dangerous liaison
I say the comedy is that it’s serious.
This is a strange enough new play on words
I say the tragedy is how you’re gonna spend
The rest of your nights with the light on
So shine the light on all of your friends
When it all amounts to nothing in the end.
I won’t worry my life away.
I won’t worry my life away.
Well i heard two men talking on the radio
In a cross fire kind of reality show
Uncovering the ways to plan the next big attack
They were counting down the ways to stab
The brother in the be right back after this
The unavoidable kiss, where the minty fresh
Death breath is sure to outlast this catastrophe
Dance with me, because if you’ve got the poison,
I’ve got the remedy
The remedy is the experience.
This is a dangerous liaison
I say the comedy is that it’s serious.
This is a strange enough new play on words
I say the tragedy is how you’re gonna spend
The rest of your nights with the light on
So shine the light on all of your friends
When it all amounts to nothing in the end.
I won’t worry my life away.
I won’t worry my life away.
When I fall in love I take my time
There’s no need to hurry when I’m making up my mind
You can turn off the sun but I’m still gonna shine and I’ll tell you why
Because
The remedy is the experience.
This is a dangerous liaison
I say the comedy is that it’s serious.
This is a strange enough new play on words
I say the tragedy is how you’re gonna spend
The rest of your nights with the light on
So shine the light on all of your friends
When it all amounts to nothing in the end.
I won’t worry my life away
I won’t worry my life away
I won’t and I won’t and I won’t

I hope this week’s song inspires you to have the courage to trust that it will be okay. ❤ Wishing you a WONDERFUL 2021! ❤
