I’m Like a Bird

Happy Thursday! 🙂

I have been THOROUGHLY ENJOYING the beautiful spring weather we have been having in Wisconsin. ❤

Walking barefoot through the grass on a 70–80 °F day while listening to the birds as they happily fly in the sky has been AMAZING! ❤

The song I wanted to write about this week is Nelly Furtado’s “I’m Like a Bird.”

Lyrics:

ou’re beautiful and that’s for sure
You’re beautiful
You’re beautifulI’m like a bird, I only fly away
I don’t know where my soul is (Soul is)
I don’t know where my home is
And baby all I need for you to know is
I’m like a bird, I’ll only fly away
I don’t know where my soul is (Soul is)
I don’t know where my home is
And baby all I need for you to know is

Each and every single day
I know I’m going to have to eventually give you away

And though my love is grand
I’m like a bird, I only fly away
I don’t know where my soul is (Soul is)
I don’t know where my home is
And baby all I need for you to know is
I’m like a bird, I’ll only fly away
I don’t know where my soul is (Soul is)
I don’t know where my home is
And baby all I need for you to know is

You don’t know me that well
And though my love is grand
Though my love is trueI’m just scared
That we may fall through
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah

You’re beautiful
I’m like a bird
I’m like a bird
I’m like a bird
I’m like a bird

I’m like a bird
I’m like a bird
I’m like a bird
I’m like a bird

I’m like a bird
I’m like a bird
I’m like a bird
I’m like a bird

I’m like a bird
I’m like a bird
I’m like a bird
I’m like a bird

You’re beautiful
I’m like a bird
I’m like a bird
I’m like a bird

And though my love is rare, rare, rare
I’m like a bird
And though my love is true, yeah
I’m just scared

That we may fall through
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah

True, yeah
I’m just scared
That we may fall through

How does this song make you feel?

I remember when this song first came out, and it was ALWAYS on the radio. 😉 It’s so catchy! 🙂

I love that the song is about the impermanence of anything in life…even who we are.

When I think about the person that I was when I first heard this song, I feel like I don’t even recognize that person anymore. 😉

We change so much throughout our lives, and I believe that most people change for the better. ❤

Life is constantly full of change, and the best way to live life is to make the most of each moment that you have and be open to the possibility that things will change.

This pandemic has been an IMMENSE change that our world was not ready for.

I hope that the state of the world will positively change for the better so that we can be free of this pandemic and live our lives as our best selves knowing that we can never take anything for granted. ❤

Wishing you well! ❤
