Happy July! 😀
Recently, I had the song “Magic” stuck in my head. You know, “Oh, Oh, it’s Magic. You know…” 😉
I remember hearing the song on the radio when my mom would listen to her “Saturday at the 70s” station, and I also have heard it in various commercials over the years.
I didn’t know who sang the song, but thanks to the internet, now I do! 😉
The song was released in 1974 by the Scottish group Pilot.
Lyrics:
It’s magic you know
Never believe it’s not so
It’s magic you know
Never believe it’s not so
Never been awake
Never seen a day break
Leaning on my pillow in the morning
Lazy day in bed music in my head
Crazy music playing in the morning light
It’s magic you know
Never believe it’s not so
It’s magic you know
Never believe it’s not so
I love my sunny day
Dream of far away
Dreaming on my pillow in the morning
Never been awake
Never seen a day break
Leaning on my pillow in the morning light
It’s magic you know
Never believe it’s not so
It’s magic you know
Never believe it’s not so
It’s magic you know
Never believe it’s not so
It’s magic you know
Never believe it’s not so
I was so excited to learn that this musical group was from Scotland! Every time I hear anything about Scotland, I hold gratitude in my heart. ❤ Let me tell you why.
I became really good friends with someone from Scotland, and my friend had said that when they returned to Scotland, I could visit them. 😮
I grew up in a small town and only traveled to a handful of states in the U.S. when I was growing up, so leaving the U.S.A. was something COMPLETELY new for me!
I thought, what better FIRST international trip experience than going to a place where my good friend lived, and the first language was my first language? 🙂
I had decided to visit my friend during my winter break from my studies at UW-Madison in 2007.
I remember being SO NERVOUS flying in an airplane by myself for the FIRST time. Luckily, there was this wonderfully kind woman that sat next to me on the airplane, and I didn’t feel nervous anymore. ❤
When I arrived in Scotland, it was AMAZING!
I was so excited about the weather! It was FREEZING in Wisconsin when I left (typical for Wisconsin winters), but I just wore a light jacket in Scotland! ❤
I mainly explored Glasgow and Edinburgh during my trip.
I had legitimate fish and chips for the first time. AMAZING! 🙂
When I was in Edinburgh, I got to visit the Edinburgh Castle.

Looking back, this was my FAVORITE part of the trip. I had NEVER visited a castle before, and the experience was TRULY FANTASTIC! ❤
My first trip outside of the United States was TRULY INCREDIBLE! The things I saw in Scotland were AMAZING, the people were kind, and the food was DELICIOUS!
I am so grateful that I tried something new and traveled outside of the U.S.! It was a magical experience! ❤
My trip to Scotland was SO AMAZING that it inspired me to continue traveling around the world (even to countries where English is not the first language 😉 )! ❤
What is something new that you tried that turned out to be magical?
Wishing you well! ❤
