Happy November! 🍁
I hope you had a great Halloween! 🎃 I celebrated Halloween on multiple days since it is my favorite holiday. 😂 If you’d like to see the costumes I wore, you can check them out on my Instagram.
Since Halloween is over, posts about spooky songs has ended (at least for this year 😉), and this week I wanted to write about a song that was newly released.
Emigrate, the band of Rammstein’s Richard Kruspe, released a new song featuring Till Lindemann (lead singer of Rammstein). Here is “Always on My Mind” :
Lyrics:
Maybe I didn’t treat you
Quite as good as I should have
Maybe I didn’t love you
Quite as often as I could have
Little things I should have said and done
I just never took the time
You were always on my mind
You were always on my mind
Maybe I didn’t hold you
All those lonely, lonely times
And I guess I never told you
I’m so happy that you’re mine
If I made you feel second best
Girl I’m so sorry, I was blind
You were always on my mind
You were always on my mind
Tell me
Tell me that your sweet love hasn’t died
Give me
One more chance to keep you satisfied
Satisfied
Little things I should have said and done
I just never took the time
You were always on my mind
You were always on my mind
Tell me
Tell me that your sweet love hasn’t died
Give me
One more chance to keep you satisfied
Satisfied

This is a very unique cover, and my favorite part of the song is when Richard and Till are singing together.
I didn’t know who sang the original version of this song. All I knew was that the song has been around for ages and that I have heard it in commercials. 🤓
When I looked up the song on YouTube, the first video that popped up was Willie Nelson singing the song:
This video made me smile because I ALWAYS think of my grandmother whenever I hear Willie Nelson. 😊 When I was a kid, she got SO EXCITED whenever Willie Nelson was on TV. 😍
I assumed that Willie Nelson released the original version of this song, but I was wrong. 😜
In 1972, “Always on My Mind” was released as “You Were Always on My Mind” by Gwen McCrae. I had never heard of Gwen McCrae before, and my goodness she has a great voice!
Okay, so now that you have heard THREE versions of “Always on My Mind,” which one do you like the best?
There are SO MANY MORE versions of this song out there, so if you like a version that I didn’t write about, please comment below as I’d love to check it out! 🙂
No matter who sings it, this song sure puts a smile on my face, and I hope it put one on yours as well! 😎
Wishing you well! 💚
