Pure Imagination

I have some VERY EXCITING news that I couldn’t wait to share with you this week!

For the FIRST time in over TWO years, I am doing a show! πŸ’™

The details are as follows:

Friday, August 26th from 6pm to 9pm
Hop Haus Brewing Company
231 S Main St, Verona, WI 53593

I am absolutely ECSTATIC about this opportunity! πŸ’œ I hope to see you there! 🌞

Now onto this week’s song. πŸ˜‰

Did you connect with your inner child this week? 🧸

I recently finished reading Roald Dahl’s novel Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. The last time I read the novel was in 4th grade. 😜 It was very fun reading it again. πŸ™‚

After I finished reading the book, I was very excited to watch the film adaptationβ€”as I had not seen that since I was a child either.

I THOROUGHLY enjoyed watching the 1971 film Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory. I was very pleased to see how much of the film was similar to the book and how the film so marvelously brought Roald Dahl’s story to life. Gene Wilder was INCREDIBLE!

There are SO MANY great songs in this film, but the one that I like the best is “Pure Imagination.”

Lyrics:

Ladies and gentlemen
Boys and girls
The chocolate room
Hold your breath
Make a wish
Count to three
Come with me and you’ll be
In a world of pure imagination
Take a look and you’ll see
Into your imagination
We’ll begin with a spin
Traveling in the world of my creation
What we’ll see will defy
Explanation
If you want to view paradise
Simply look around and view it
Anything you want to, do it
Want to change the world?
There’s nothing to it
There is no life I know
To compare with pure imagination
Living there, you’ll be free
If you truly wish to be
If you want to view paradise
Simply look around and view it
Anything you want to, do it
Want to change the world?
There’s nothing to it
There is no life I know
To compare with pure imagination
Living there, you’ll be free
If you truly wish to be

Here is a clip of the song in the film:

I absolutely LOVE this scene. I really appreciate Willy Wonka’s unique dance moves on the steps. I LOVE the bright colors and watching the factory visitors go crazy over everything that is edible in the Chocolate Room. 😁 When I was kid, I remember feeling jealous that Mike Teavee’s mom got to eat whipped cream out of the giant mushroom. πŸ˜‚

What do you think of the song and/or this scene?

I LOVE that this song talks about the importance of using your imagination and how your imagination can change the world.

How can you change the world? πŸ’™

Wishing you well! πŸ’š
