5,000 Candles in the Wind

Happy Thursday!

I truly hope this post finds you, your family, and friends well. ❤

This week I wanted to share another song that makes me smile in the hopes of making you smile too! ❤ 🙂  (If you haven’t seen the other posts I have made to help boost your spirits during the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, please check out “Don’t Worry Be Happy,”  “Handwashing Songs,” “Everything’s Not Awesome.” “Quarantine Song,” “Reflection,” “Captain Planet Theme Song,” and “Fix You.”)

One show that I really enjoyed watching when it aired was Parks and Recreation, so as you can imagine, I was VERY EXCITED when I saw that they had released a special episode last week! 😀

It made me feel all warm and fuzzy inside seeing all of my favorite characters talk to each other through a video chat platform. ❤

The episode was released to raise money for the COVID-19 Response Fund, which was put together to to help fund food banks around the U.S. so that the hungry can eat during this pandemic.

The special episode talked about important things we should do to protect ourselves and others from the Coronavirus, but it also had a lot of humor.

One of my favorite parts was when Johnny Karate makes a special appearance and ends up hurting himself because he’s just so silly! 😀

If you’d like to watch the episode, you can check it out here:

Another one of my favorite parts of this episode was when all the Parks and Recreation characters came together to sing “5,000 Candles in the Wind.” Check it out:

Up in horsey heaven, here’s the thing
You trade your legs for angels’ wings
And once we’ve all said goodbye
You take a running leap and you learn to fly

Bye Bye Li’l Sebastian
Miss you in the saddest fashion
Bye Bye Li’l Sebastian
You’re 5000 candles in the wind

And though we all miss you everyday
We know you’re up there eating heaven’s hay
And here’s the part that hurts the most
Humans cannot ride a ghost

Bye Bye Li’l Sebastian Miss you in the saddest fashion
Bye Bye Li’l Sebastian
You’re 5000 candles in the wind

Maybe someday we’ll saddle up again
I know I’ll always miss my horsiest friend
Spread your wings and fly
Spread your wings and fly

I really enjoyed the jokes during the song as well as the passion with which most of the characters sang the song. It was just lovely! ❤

I hope that we can all practice the actions this episode talks about, like social distancing, washing our hands, taking care of ourselves, socializing with others via video chat, etc.

If you have any songs that cheered you up this week, please post them!

Please take care of yourselves! ❤

Thoughts? Please post them :-)
