Where Do the Children Play?

Happy Earth Day! ❤

I LOVE Earth Day! 🙂 I love being in nature, and Earth Day is such a great opportunity to really appreciate the wonders of nature and help nature stay wonderful. ❤

What kinds of things do you like to do to celebrate Earth Day?

I like to think about ways that I can be EXTRA environmentally friendly in my actions, not just on Earth Day but for the rest of the year as well.

I also enjoy spending time outdoors if the weather is nice. ❤

We all can help protect our earth by being mindful of our actions every day.

Some things I have developed into a habit are using reusable grocery bags, using a glass water bottle and refilling it, monitoring how much water I am using, turning off lights when I leave a room, etc.

The song that I thought would be appropriate for Earth Day was Cat Stevens’ “Where Do The Children Play?”

Lyrics:

Well I think it’s fine, building Jumbo planes
Or taking a ride on a cosmic train
Switch on summer from a slot machine
Get what you want to if you want, ’cause you can get anything

I know we’ve come a long way
We’re changing day to day
But tell me, where do the children play?

Well you roll on roads over fresh green grass
For your lorry loads pumping petrol gas
And you make them long, and you make them tough
But they just go on and on, and it seems you can’t get off

Oh, I know we’ve come a long way
We’re changing day to day
But tell me, where do the children play?

Well you’ve cracked the sky, scrapers fill the air
Will you keep on building higher
‘Til there’s no more room up there?
Will you make us laugh, will you make us cry?
Will you tell us when to live, will you tell us when to die?

I know we’ve come a long way
We’re changing day to day
But tell me, where do the children play?

This is a photo of a GORGEOUS/spooky tree I saw during my trip to Yoyogi Park in Japan.

How does the song make you feel?

I hope that we can all come together to make positive changes to our actions so that we can ensure that future generations can enjoy the earth too! ❤

Happy Earth Day! ❤
