Songs I love- “Under the Boardwalk”

It’s mid-May in Wisconsin, and it’s finally getting warm!(Thank goodness!) I know that we’re getting closer and closer to summer, and I CAN’T WAIT for my favorite season!

I love summer, and I love songs about summer! 🙂 One summer song that I love is Kenny Young and Arthur Resnick’s   “Under the Boardwalk.” “Under the Boardwalk” was made famous by The Drifters.

I love the first verse of the song because it makes you feel the heat of the summer. (If you’re a Wisconsinite like me, and you listen to the song in the winter, you can be reminded of what awaits you after 4-6 months of cold and darkness. 😉 ) Some people don’t like hot summers, but I’d take them over snow any day!

The chorus talks about lying next to the person you love while hanging out by the water.(Super romantic 🙂 )

I really like the second verse because it talks about a carnival or some sort of festival. This verse reminds me of being a kid. I always remember looking forward to going to local and state fairs and festivals. It was always such a fun time to play games, go on rides, and eat food that…well probably isn’t so good for your health but tastes soo good!

This song is 100% sure to make you smile 🙂

I liked this song so much that I wanted to learn it. With permission from Carlin America Inc., I was able to post a cover of this song on my YouTube channel. Please check it out here!
