Happy Thursday! I hope you are well! ❤
Yesterday, I heard a song that I hadn’t heard for ages, and when I heard it, it brightened my day. ❤ I thought the song was perfect for a time like this—a time when there is so much uncertainty and darkness due to COVID-19. The song I would like to share this week is “What the World Needs Now Is Love,” as performed by the beautiful and talented Dionne Warwick.
Because my mom loved listening to oldies stations when I was growing up, I remember hearing this song often. It’s such a catchy and positive song! ❤
When I went to find a video of this song for this week’s post, I was very surprised to see that last year Dionne Warwick re-released the song. Her voice is as beautiful as ever! The music video is extremely moving. ❤ Check it out:
Lyrics:
It’s the only thing, that there’s just too little of
What the world needs now is love, sweet love,
No, not just for some, but for everyone
There are mountains and hillsides
Enough to climb
There are oceans and rivers,
Enough to cross, enough to last till the end of time
It’s the only thing that there’s just too little of
What the world needs now is love, sweet love
No, not just for some, but for everyone
There are cornfields and wheat fields
Enough to grow
There are sunbeams and moonbeams
Enough to shine
Oh listen Lord, if you want to know
It’s the only thing that there’s just too little of
What the world needs now is love, sweet love
No, not just for some,
But for everyone
What the world needs now is love, sweet love
What the world needs now is love, sweet love
What the world needs now is love, sweet love
Now be honest, did you also get teary-eyed when the mother in the video sees her daughter’s drawing on the refrigerator and embraces her daughter as she cries? 😉 That was such a perfect ending to the video. ❤
Considering everything that has been going on during this pandemic, it is completely normal not to feel okay. Is there someone that you can share your love with today to help you get through the day? ❤ This pandemic is full of so many uncertainties. All we know is that we have today. If we can take it day by day, we can get through this! ❤
