I am SO GRATEFUL I was able to return to Wisconsin Brewing CompanyβLouie Lake Brewing this past Sunday and share my LOVE for music! π

This show was especially special for me because it was on my aunt’s birthday. Because of this, I played her favorite song, “Banana Pancakes” byΒ Jack Johnson. (Check out my blog post about the song.)
I had written about my aunt years ago when I shared my inspiration for the song “Goodbye.”
Sunday was the first time in over a decade that I was able to play the song.
I was very close with my aunt, and she always supported my passion for music. We had planned to go to Door County, Wisconsin for a weekend to celebrate her remission from cancer. I had told her that I would learn her favorite song for her and play it for then.
One of the nights over that weekend, I remember sitting on the floor with my guitar playing songs for my aunt and other family members, and I remember how excited she was when I played “Banana Pancakes.” That memory always sticks with me when I hear the song. π
After she passed away, I had kept the song in my music binder for years thinking that I would want to play it again some day, but every time I saw it, it made me so sad.
However, as soon as I had scheduled this show with Lake Louie Brewing last winter, I had decided that I would play the song again to honor her.
When I started practicing it, it was very hard. A lot of memories came back. But you know what? Even when it hurts when memories arise of people we love who have passed, it’s really important to let yourself remember them. β€οΈ
During my show on Sunday, I mentioned that it was my aunt’s birthday and that I would be playing her favorite song.
It was so much fun to play “Banana Pancakes”! (My heart ached a little when I played it though.)

There were a lot of dogs on Sundayβsome of them being SO rambunctious! π€£
When I wanted to share clips from the show with you, I had to sift through the parts of the show with dogs barking in the background. π
Here’s a clip of me performing my original song “That’s Life.”
Here’s a clip of me performing my original song “Worth the Wait.”
My aunt had springer spaniels, and I was filled with DELIGHT when a couple with a springer spaniel sat next to the stage. The dog kept barking at me and trying to get on stage next to me. π I LOVED that experience! π
I would like to give a special shout out to the person in the audience singing along with me to “Mr. Crowley,” the person singing along with me to “Dream a Little Dream,” the person who expressed enthusiasm when I sang my original song “Temptation,” and the numerous people who got excited about my cover of “Bad Moon Rising.” I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE connecting with others through music, and I really appreciate all of you! You all made the show even MORE fun! π§‘
I also want to give a BIG THANK YOU to everyone who was there listening to “Banana Pancakes” so that my aunt could be honored. π
Wishing you well! π
