Happy Thursday!
I truly hope that this post finds you well! ❤
Every week, I have been posting a song that I hope will brighten your day during this Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. (If you want to see my earlier posts, please check out “Don’t Worry Be Happy,” “Handwashing Songs,”“Everything’s Not Awesome,” “Quarantine Song,”“Reflection,” “Captain Planet Theme Song,” “Fix You,” “5,000 Candles in the Wind,” “Orchestra Medley,” and What the Word Needs Now is Love”.)
This week, I wanted to share an extremely moving song that I recently came across.
Ozzy Osbourne and Elton John are both incredibly talented! Yet, because their styles are so different, I would have never anticipated that they would do a collaborative piece together! 😮 When I had learned that Ozzy released a new song featuring Elton John, I was so curious to listen to it!
Here’s the official video for the song “Ordinary Man”:
Lyrics:
I was unprepared for fame
Then everybody knew my name
No more lonely nights, it’s all for you
I have traveled many miles
I’ve seen tears and I’ve seen smiles
Just remember that it’s all for youDon’t forget me as the colors fade
When the lights go down, it’s just an empty stage
OkayYes, I’ve been a bad guy
Been higher than the blue sky
And the truth is I don’t wanna die an ordinary man
I’ve made momma cry
Don’t know why I’m still alive
Yes, the truth is I don’t wanna die an ordinary manMany times I’ve lost control
They tried to kill my rock and roll
Just remember I’m still here for you
I don’t wanna say goodbye
When I do, you’ll be alright
After all, I did it all for you
Don’t forget me as the colors fade
When the lights go down, it’s just an empty stage
OkayYes, I’ve been a bad guy
Been higher than the blue sky
And the truth is I don’t wanna die an ordinary man
I’ve made momma cry
Don’t know why I’m still alive
Yes, the truth is I don’t wanna die an ordinary manYes, I’ve been a bad guy
Been higher than the blue sky
And the truth is I don’t wanna die an ordinary man
I’ve made momma cry
Don’t know why I’m still alive
Yes, the truth is I don’t wanna die an ordinary man
Kudos to Ozzy and Elton for releasing such a fantastic song! ❤
The lyrics to this song are so moving on their own, but once I watched the music video, the song became even more powerful. Watching Ozzy Osbourne as he watched videos captured throughout his life was very emotional.
If we are so lucky, we have the opportunity to grow old and look back on our lives. At this very moment, what do you see when you look back on your life? Even if you’ve made mistakes and even if you have regrets about the paths you’ve taken, you always have this moment to make a change.
Make sure that you live your life in a way that allows you to feel fulfilled. Think about what you value the most in your life, and carry that with you as you make decisions moment to moment.
There is immense pain around the world at this moment due to the pandemic. How can you make the most of this moment despite all this pain?
We will make it through this pandemic. When we do make it through and you look back at this time, what will you remember?
Wishing you the very best! ❤
