Every 27 Years

It’s almost Halloween! 🎃👻🧟‍♂️

I hope you have something fun planned! 🙂

In honor of Halloween, this week I wanted to share a song from the 2017 film It. Here is “Every 27 Years” by Benjamin Wallfisch.

Lyrics:

Oranges and lemons
Say the bells of St. Clement’s
You owe me five farthings
Say the bells of St. Martin’s

The quiet child voice is SO CREEPY at the beginning of the song! 💀I couldn’t understand what the child was saying but after looking up the lyrics, I learned that the child is reciting part of the old English nursery rhyme “Oranges and Lemons.”

What do you think of the song?

Although the actors in the 2017 It did a good job, I still prefer the original It (the 1990 TV mini series) because it creeped me out SO MUCH when I was a kid. Which It do you like the best?

Thanks to Tim Curry‘s ability to be extraordinarily creepy, when I watched the 1990’s It as a child, it cemented my uneasiness with clowns. 🤡😂

I remember my father saying to me once, “I don’t get it. I would take you to the circus, and you used to love clowns!” I said back, “Well, that was before Tim Curry in It.” 😜

Did anyone else out there develop a dislike of clowns from this TV miniseries? 😏

To end this post on a silly note, my pumpkin melted! 🎃🤣

Because I was so excited about autumn, I got a pumpkin late September, and after the carved pumpkin sat outside for about 5 days, it looked like this. 😋

If you carved a pumpkin this autumn, I hope it makes it to Halloween! 😉

Have a great Halloween! 🎃
