Halloween is on Monday! 🎃

I’ve been THOROUGHLY enjoying all of the different Halloween decorations people and businesses have put up. 👻

Which decorations have been your favorite this Halloween season?

My favorite so far has been the largest werewolf decoration I have ever seen in someone’s front yard! 😮

Since Halloween is only a few days a way, this week’s post marks the last Halloween-related song of the year.

This week’s song is one that brings back fun memories for me.

I was listening to my car radio and heard the artist singing “People are strange when you’re a stranger…”

I couldn’t recognize the vocalist or the tune, but those words seemed so familiar.

When the song on the radio ended, I started singing those words over and over until a familiar tune came to mind, and I started humming the rest of the song.

I realized the song on the radio was a cover of a song I had heard before.

I typed in “People are strange when you’re a stranger…” online and found that the lyrics are from “People Are Strange” by The Doors.

After watching this video, memories can flooding in of a time when I had SO MUCH FUN. 🧡

Before I started my own business, I taught adults English as a Second Language at a private school. Aside from teaching at that school, I was also the activities coordinator and LOVED planning events for my students. 💙

One of my favorite events was a Halloween party. I bought TONS of decorations and thoroughly enjoyed decorating for the party.

I remember getting a Halloween CD with a bunch of songs on it to play during the party. (They were all covers of the popular versions, so I didn’t know who the original artists were.)

One of those songs was “People Are Strange.” I believe that was the first time I heard the song, and I remember thinking it was really creepy.

I had so much fun planning games for my students to play at the party, and it was AMAZING and also HILARIOUS to watch them play.

The two games that I remember are the mummy game and the balloon popping game.

The students were split into teams, and each team had to wrap one team member up with toilet paper to see who could make the best mummy in a given amount of time. They were laughing so hard when they did this activity, and I was too.😂 (We all spent a lot of time cleaning up the TP everywhere after this game. 👻)

For the balloon popping game, I put slips of papers containing charades in balloons that I blew up. The students had to pop them and perform the charades. I remember being so entertained by the various ways they popped the balloons and how loud that room was with the balloon popping and laughing! 🤣

Isn’t it AMAZING how a single song can bring back memories of a time that you hadn’t thought of in ages? 🖤

As for the song, what do you think of it?

I find the song haunting—especially the beginning before the first time the song goes “When you’re strange faces come out of the rain.”

It is so creepy when the video pans over people in the street who seem to be wearing panty hose on their faces!
