Hereβs another edition of theΒ Thursday Evening Post. π
Seeing the flowers coming out has been a delight! π€
What are your favorite flowers to see during the springtime?
I’ve written about how sometimes I hear a song on the radio that I hadn’t heard since childhood, and I surprise myself with being able to remember a lot of the words! π
That recently happened again. π
This song came on the radio the other day:
Lyrics:
Dear, I fear we’re facing a problem
You love me no longer, I know and
Maybe there is nothing that I can do
To make you do
Mama tells me I shouldn’t bother
That I ought just stick to another man
A man that surely deserves me
But I think you do
So I cry, and I pray, and I beg
Love me, love me
Say that you love me
Fool me, fool me
Go on and fool me
Love me, love me
Pretend that you love me
Leave me, leave me
Just say that you need me
So I cry and I beg for you to
Love me, love me
Say that you love me
Leave me, leave me
Just say that you need me
I can’t care ’bout anything but you
Lately I have desperately pondered
Spent my nights awake and I wonder
What I could have done in another way
To make you stay
Reason will not reach a solution
I will end up lost in confusion
I don’t care if you really care
As long as you don’t go
So I cry, and I pray, and I beg
Love me, love me
Say that you love me
Fool me, fool me
Go on and fool me
Love me, love me
Pretend that you love me
Leave me, leave me
Just say that you need me
So I cry and I beg for you to
Love me, love me
Say that you love me
Leave me, leave me
Just say that you need me
I can’t care ’bout anything but you
(Anything but you)
Love me, love me
Say that you love me
Fool me, fool me
Go on and fool me
Love me, love me
I know that you need me
I can’t care ’bout anything but you

This tune from 1996 must have been on the radio A LOT when I was a kid because I was surprised by how much of it I was singing along to! π
I didn’t know that the song is by The Cardigans. I don’t remember hearing that band name when I was growing up. I found out that the band is actually Swedish, which I think is fantastic because I had a lot of fun studying the Swedish language when I was a university student. π
I also didn’t know the actual title of this song!
I had always thought it was “Love Me” and was surprised that the song is titled “Lovefool.”
I like this song because it’s so catchy and the vocals and instrumentals put you in a good mood. π
How do you like the song?
If you know other songs by The Cardigans, which of their songs do you enjoy?
May you be well! π
