The Bleaken

Hereโ€™s another edition of the Thursday Evening Post. ๐ŸฆŒ

Last week, I shared “One Woman Ain’t Enough” from my Live at the High Noon series. If you haven’t checked it out yet, here’s a clip of the song:

This week, I wanted to share the FINAL song in my Live at the High Noon series. Here is “That’s Life” featuring Jimmy Murn:

Christmas is next week! ๐Ÿ˜ฎ

I’ve been enjoying watching Christmas movies! ๐ŸŽ„

I watched Miracle on 34th Street for the first time as an adult. As a child, I remember thinking that the movie was so BORING! ๐Ÿ˜ด

Watching it as a grown up, I had a COMPLETELY different experience! โค๏ธ

The writing was EXCELLENT! The acting was FANTASTIC! I THOROUGHLY enjoyed the film! ๐Ÿ’œ

Have you ever had a similar experience, where you watch something as an adult that you didn’t like as a kid but now find it enjoyable? Or, have you had the opposite experience, where you watch something you liked as a kid but now find that you don’t enjoy it?

In addition to watching Christmas movies, I’ve been re-watching Christmas-themed episodes of Bob’s Burgers.

My FAVORITE Christmas-themed Bob’s Burgers episode is the Bleaken story. (It’s a two-part episode.)

Here’s a song from “The Bleakening,” season 8, episode 6:

Lyrics:

The Bleaken is coming, as fast as he can
Ruining Christmas like he don’t give a damn
Gotta find the Bleaken, we’ll follow his scent
We gotta stop the Bleaken from stealing our presents
He’s gonna be defeated, he’s about to meet his match
And maybe when we find him we can ask for mom’s tree back
Sure, sure, sure, but mostly it’s about running him out of town before he steals our Christmas presents
Totally, I just think maybe once we find him and scare him it wouldn’t hurt to ask for mom’s tree
Uh, yeah
The Bleaken is gonna wish that he was never born
We’re coming for you, man
Hold on to your horns
I just asked for experiences this year. The Bleaken can’t steal a Korean BBQ dinner for two
I mean, isn’t that a gift card? He can just take it, right?
Damn it
The Bleaken is gonna wish that he was never born
We’re coming for you, man
Hold on to your horns

I really enjoy the harmonies in this song! ๐Ÿ˜

I love how the Belcher kids are so determined to find The Bleaken (a sort of Krampus) to prevent it from stealing their presents! ๐Ÿ˜„

Speaking of Krampus, I really enjoy watching the 2015 film Krampus during the Christmas season! ๐ŸŽ How do you like the film?

I’ll leave you with my cover of “God Rest Ye, Merry Gentlemen.” This Christmas carol is one I quite enjoy because I’ve always felt that it has a bit of an eerie feel to it. ๐Ÿ˜ƒ

May you be well! ๐Ÿงก
