The Emperor Protects

Here’s another edition of the Thursday Evening Post. 🐰

Yesterday was April Fools’ Day.

Did you prank anyone?

I LOVE the video that Games Workshop released for April Fools’ Day: The Emperor Protects: a Warhammer 40,000 Musicial. 😂

Lyrics:

There is only war
There is only war
There is only war
There is only war

Suffer not the alien to live
Embrace your righteous rage
As you go take its dying breath
Suffer not the alien
Reject its heresy
Suffer not the alien
I say
Suffer not the alien
Suffer not
The alien
To live

Such a stunning specimen
Must be kept
To prepare for posterity
And curiously
And carefully
Displayed forever for me
I’ve waited for aeons
To add such a being
I categorically
Absolutely
Positively
Must have you for my collection
For my collection

There is only the Emperor
My protector and shield
He is all that my soul requires
I’m the blade that He wields
His holy blade
His holy blade!
There is only the Emperor
My protector and shield

There is only war
There is only war
No peace among the stars
Tonight!

I LOVE painting Warhammer miniatures! ❤️Here’s Lady Olynder, Mortarch of Grief and her Banshee Handmaidens.

The lyrics are quite hilarious! 😆

My favorite part of this video is the people wearing black clothes doing arm choreography during the “My Collection” song! 😂

What part of this video did you find the most entertaining?

I think about what it would have been like to have been asked by Games Workshop to be in this video. Would you have done it? I would have LOVED to have been in it! It looks like it was so much fun! 😁

Do you know why people celebrate April Fools’ Day?

According to the National Geographic Article “How did April Fools’ Day begin?: Here’s the history behind its mysterious origins,” a celebration of pranking others has been around at least since the 1500s. However, historians are unable to unanimously agree on the holiday’s origin. The article explains the potential sources of the holiday if you’d like to check it out.

The article ends by saying, “What is clear is the powerful draw of spring for those looking to slough off the doldrums of winter and have some light-hearted fun with one another.”

Have you ever looked at April Fools’ Day through this perspective?

I hope this week’s post brought you joy! 😄

May you be well! 💙
