Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas

Today we had QUITE the snowfall! 😮❄️

It’s hard to believe that the first day of winter isn’t actually until next week! This is quite the autumn we are having! ⛄

If the weather continues to follow this pattern, I imagine we will be having a white Christmas this year. 🎄

My absolute FAVORITE Christmas song of ALL TIME is “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas” as performed by Judy Garland. I wrote about her version of this song in a past post. (Read it, here. 🤓)

I was recently introduced to a version of the song that I had never heard before.

Here is Ella Fitzgerald’s version:

Lyrics:

Have yourself a merry little Christmas
Let your heart be light
Next year all our troubles will be out of sight
Have yourself a merry little Christmas
Make the Yuletide gay
Next year all our troubles will be miles away
Once again, as in olden days
Happy golden days of yore
Faithful friends who are dear to us
Will be near to us once more
Someday soon we all will be together
If the fates allow
Until then, we’ll have to muddle through somehow
So have yourself a merry little Christmas now

Once again, as in olden days
Happy golden days of yore

Faithful friends who are dear to us
Will be near to us once more

Someday soon we all will be together
If the fates allow
Until then, we’ll have to muddle through somehow
So have yourself a merry little Christmas now

Here’s a photo I took of some GORGEOUS ornaments at the Christkindlmarket in Chicago, IL. Check out my post about that trip, here.

How do you like Ella Fitzgerald’s version? I think it is SO MUCH fun!

Judy Garland’s version usually makes me cry. 😢 It’s okay. You can laugh at me. 😁

Ella Fitzgerald’s version makes me want to dance around. 😊

Can you share in the comments below who sings your favorite version of “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas”?

I’ll leave you with my cover of “Jingle Bells.” 🎅🏻
