The snow keeps coming! 😮
As I’ve written about before, whenever people ask why I live in Wisconsin if I don’t like the cold weather or the snow, I tell them that I live here for the spring, summer, and fall. 😉
I recently was talking with a fellow Wisconsinite about the weather we’ve been having lately, and the person pointed out that not only did we get fall taken away too soon, but we also didn’t really have much of a spring this year either. 😮
Fall is my second favorite season (SUMMER BEING MY ABSOLUTE FAVORTE! ❤ ), and I was bummed that the wintry weather came so soon. (Those poor children trick or treating in the snow! 😦 )
The recent weather has brought the movie Frosty Returns to my mind specifically because of a song in that movie.
There’s a song called “Let There Be Snow” that appears a couple times in the film:
Lyrics:
you’re scared but you know they’re wrong
I find that I get much further when I turn my thoughts to song
The joy that the snow can bring
So why should you stop to reason
Just open your heart and sing
Let there be snow
Deep I remind the autumns behind
You let the wind blow
Figurines across the lake
Such a magical sight
When the world dresses up in white
Whoa let there be snow
The cold may nibble at your nose
But once there’s a six-inch layer
Those soft flakes beneath your toes
Or jump in a snowy pile
Why not build a port or igloo
Or a window to print your smile
Let there be snow
Go down the schools
And let’s act like fools
There’s parties to throw
You could sit back and count you lou.
But now that I’ve conquered Beansborro,
I’m ready to trade this suit.
I want a cape that flows.
Six yards of fur and velvet,
Right down to my crooked toes.
There’s no more snow!
The town, they love me,
The clouds above me,
Couldn’t get beat with my toe.
I’ll give her wizards quite a spin.
Just try and stop me.
No one can stop me.
Let my kingship begin!
Let there be snow!
This kind of weather
Brings people together,
So friendships can grow.
for summer days to celebrate?
Such a magical sight
When the world dressed in white
Oh, let there be snow.
This song is about the happiness people feel about snow. As you can see in the video clip above, the children are particularly happy about this.
This is not the song that I relate to, however. 😉
I couldn’t find a clip of it, but there is another song in this movie that I can better relate to.
In this song, the adults are shoveling their sidewalks and singing about how much they hate the snow! 😀
When I was a kid, I definitely related to the “Let There Be Snow” song, but as an adult, I more relate to the song the adults in the movie sing. 😉
The snow is beautiful to look at it, but when it’s really cold outside and the roads are very dangerous to drive on, that is not so fun.
If you have also been getting a lot of snow where you live, how have you been dealing with it? 😉
