Hello, I Love You

The weather in Madison, Wisconsin has been so great for hikes lately! 🌲

I’ve been going on hikes every chance I get. 😁 (I’ve been posting photos from my hikes on Instagram if you’d like to check them out. 📷)

During one of my recent road trips to a hiking trail, I was listening to an oldies station that was playing some fantastic tunes. (I love calling songs “tunes.” It always makes me think of my AMAZING high school band teacher who used that word instead of “songs.” If you’d like to read about him, I wrote about him in this post.)

One of the songs I heard on that station was “Hello, I Love You.”

I remember hearing this song on the radio when I was a kid when my mom had on her favorite oldies station.

The only thing I knew about this song were the words, “Hello, I love you. Won’t you tell me your name?” I actually didn’t know who it was by. 😳

Thanks to the screen on my car radio, I learned that the song was by The Doors.

I feel embarrassed about this, but I didn’t actually know anything about The Doors. I was aware of that famous poster of Jim Morrison and that he was the lead singer of The Doors, but I wouldn’t have been able to tell you the names of any of their songs.

Now, I can! 😜

Here is their song, “Hello, I Love You.”

Lyrics:

Hello, I love you, won’t you tell me your name?
Hello, I love you, let me jump in your game
Hello, I love you, won’t you tell me your name?
Hello, I love you, let me jump in your game
She’s walking down the street
Blind to every eye she meets
Do you think you’ll be the guy
To make the queen of the angels sigh?
Hello, I love you, won’t you tell me your name?
Hello, I love you, let me jump in your game
Hello, I love you, won’t you tell me your name?
Hello, I love you, let me jump in your game
She holds her head so high, like a statue in the sky
Her arms are wicked, and her legs are long
When she moves my brain screams out this song
Sidewalk crouches at her feet
Like a dog that begs for something sweet
Do you hope to make her see, you fool?
Do you hope to pluck this dusky jewel?
Hello, hello, hello, hello, hello, hello, hello
I want you, hello, I need my baby
Hello, hello, hello, hello

What do you think of the song? It is so catchy and upbeat. It makes me dance in my seat as I write this post. 😄

It was fun to look up the lyrics for this song because, as I mentioned, I didn’t know many of the song’s lyrics.

Can you relate to this song? Do you remember ever seeing someone when you were out and about and feeling as though you were falling for that person?

I think this happened a bunch when I was a kid. 🤣

I hope this week’s song brightens your day! 🌞

May you be well! 💚
