Ooh, It Really Feels Like Halloween

Hereโ€™s another edition of the Thursday Evening Post. ๐Ÿ

It is ALMOST HALLOWEEN! ๐Ÿ˜ƒ

I am EXTREMELY EXCITED! ๐Ÿ–ค๐Ÿงก

The very warm weather this Halloween season has been bizarre, though! ๐Ÿ˜ฏ (I remember a past Halloween when it was SNOWING! ๐Ÿฅถ I definitely gave EXTRA candy to the kids who were out trick-or-treating that year! ๐Ÿฌ)

I’m glad I didn’t carve a pumpkin this year because this is what happened some years ago when I put a carved pumpkin out when it was too warm in SEPTEMBER:

๐Ÿ˜‚

Poor pumpkin!

Imagine what would have happened this year! ๐Ÿ˜†

I have a surprise for you today!

I created another parody! ๐Ÿ˜

Here is my original song, “Ooh, It Really Feels Like Halloween” (a parody of “Dream a Little Dream of Me”):

ยฉ2026 Allison Merten
Lyrics:
Gigantic webs in the trees
Enormous spiders swaying in the breeze
And the satisfying crunch of leaves
Ooh, it really feels like Halloween

Werewolves on porches placed strategically
Vampires coming out of coffins ever so slowly
And black cats starting to shriek
Ooh, it really feels like Halloween

Cemeteries in front lawns
Hungry zombies coming out of the ground
Angry eyeball lights on until dawn
Animatronic monster sounds

Skeletons as tall as can be
Jack-o-lanterns missing quite a few teeth
And those witches on brooms that run into trees
Ooh, it really feels like Halloween

Cemeteries in front lawns
Hungry zombies coming out of the ground
Angry eyeball lights on until dawn
Animatronic monster sounds

Skeletons as tall as can be
Jack-o-lanterns missing quite a few teeth
And those witches on brooms that run into trees
Ooh, it really feels like Halloween

Ooh, it really feels like Halloween
Ooh, it really feels like Halloween

This song describes a walking tour of Halloween decorations. ๐Ÿ–ค

The line “skeletons as tall as can be” refers to the properties that have skeletons that are the height OF A HOUSE! ๐Ÿ˜ฎ

Those skeletons are SO COOL! ๐Ÿงก

I made sure to include the line “And those witches on brooms that run into trees” because those witch decorations crack me up! ๐Ÿคฃ

I remember the first Halloween season that I saw one of those witches. I thought it was so creative and hilarious! ๐Ÿ˜

Clearly, A LOT of people were also humored by that decoration because soon several homes had those smooshed witches. ๐Ÿงน

The popularity of those witches must have faded because I have only seen two witches crashing into trees this year! ๐Ÿคฃ

I STILL LOVE THOSE WITCHES! ๐Ÿ˜†

Does my song mention anything that you enjoy about Halloween?

I’d love to hear your thoughts! ๐Ÿ–ค

Wishing you a HAPPY HALLOWEEN! ๐Ÿ–ค๐Ÿงก
