Here’s another edition of the Thursday Evening Post. 🦕
I was very sad to learn this week that Sam Neill passed away. 😢
Sam Neill was an incredible actor, and every time I saw him in anything, I smiled remembering how amazing he was as Dr. Alan Grant in the 1993 film Jurassic Park. 🦖
Rewatching the film as an adult, I recalled how magical the movie was when I was a child and how the movie still fills me with awe! ❤️
There is so much CGI in movies nowadays that I often feel that it’s hard to get into movies. However, the decision to largely use puppets and animatronics in Jurassic Park was a brilliant one! That decision allows viewers to get sucked into the movie—to feel if we are also in a world where dinosaurs could still exist.
I feel that magic whenever I hear the “Theme from Jurassic Park” by John Williams.
The theme song is so peaceful, so beautiful, and so awe-inspiring! 💜
It captures what it would it would feel like to stand in front of a living dinosaur!
How does the song make you feel when you hear it?
(If you haven’t seen Jeff Goldblum singing along to the “Theme from Jurassic Park,” you can check it out here. )
The way Sam Neill played Dr. Grant helped make Jurassic Park so magical!
Dr. Grant made being smart seem like a super power! 💚
Dr. Grant demonstrated that there’s power in staying calm during an emergency—that all you can do is take action and rest until the time comes to take the next action. ❤️
Dr. Alan Grant was such an AWESOME character!

I hope Sam Neill knew how influential his performance in Jurassic Park was! 💙
May you be well! 🩵
