Summertime in Chicago

Although I’ve lived in Wisconsin all my life, and it’s so close to Illinois, I’ve only been to Chicago a handful of times. (Check out my post about my visit to the Field Museum, here. Read about my visit to the Shedd Aquarium, here. Check out my trip to the Christkindlmarket, here.)

Last weekend was the first time I got to visit Chicago in the summer, and it was AWESOME!

I wanted to share a little bit about my visit with you.

Friday afternoon was unfortunately rainy, so I wasn’t able to do any sightseeing. However, I did get to enjoy some delicious Mexican food at Mercadito Chicago.

I had camarón tacos. I’d never had shrimp avocado tacos before, but let me tell you, they were delicious! It’s a great thing to try something new and have that work out for you! 😋

Saturday was a BEAUTIFUL day, so I was able to enjoy all of the INCREDIBLE architecture and outdoor artwork as I walked around the city, including at Wrigley Square and the Jay Pritzker Pavilion! 💚

I was surprised to see hundreds of people doing Zumba at Millennium Park!

Of course I joined in! 😃

This was my first time doing Zumba, and it was SO MUCH fun! It was led by instructor Iris T. London. She was absolutely fantastic! She kept the crowd energized. I was disappointed I only caught the last part of the class. (I could definitely feel it the next day though. 😉 )

After the unexpected Zumba class, I continued on with my sightseeing and got to see Cloud Gate along with Crown Fountain, where there were tons of children playing in the water. 🙂

After leaving the Millennium Park area, I came across Oz Park and really enjoyed seeing a statue of the Tin Min.

For dinner that night, I enjoyed some delicious sushi at Sushi Naniwa.

The vegetable crunch roll and ebi tempura roll were extremely delicious! I highly recommend them. 🙂

For breakfast the next day, I enjoyed breakfast tacos at Hub 51.

After a yummy breakfast, I spent the last part of my trip to Chicago enjoying the sites down by the river.

Quite the view, huh?

Ever been to Chicago in the summer? If you haven’t, I highly recommend it. 😎
