Unwritten

Here’s another edition of the Thursday Evening Post. 🌹

I recently saw Spider-Man: Brand New Day and LOVED it! ❤️

The actors and actresses did an exceptional job!

I love mysteries and thoroughly enjoyed the mysterious aspects of the film!

One theme I loved was that we are special—not for what we can do but for WHO we are! ❤️

Being who we truly are is powerful! 💚

When I was traveling in the car, Natasha Bedingfield‘s 2004 song “Unwritten” was on the radio.

Lyrics:

I am unwritten
Can’t read my mind
I’m undefined
I’m just beginning
The pen’s in my hand
Ending unplanned
Staring at the blank page before you
Open up the dirty window
Let the sun illuminate the words that you cannot find
Reaching for something in the distance
So close you can almost taste it
Release your inhibitions
Feel the rain on your skin
No one else can feel it for you
Only you can let it in
No one else, no one else
Can speak the words on your lips
Drench yourself in words unspoken
Live your life with arms wide open
Today is where your book begins
The rest is still unwritten
Yeah
Oh, oh
I break tradition
Sometimes my tries
Are outside the lines, yeah, yeah
We’ve been conditioned
To not make mistakes
But I can’t live that way, no, oh
Staring at the blank page before you
Open up the dirty window
Let the sun illuminate the words that you cannot find
Reaching for something in the distance
So close you can almost taste it
Release your inhibitions
Feel the rain on your skin
No one else can feel it for you
Only you can let it in
No one else, no one else
Can speak the words on your lips
Drench yourself in words unspoken
Live your life with arms wide open
Today is where your book begins
The rest is still unwritten
Staring at the blank page before you
Open up the dirty window
Let the sun illuminate the words that you cannot find
Reaching for something in the distance
So close you can almost taste it
Release your inhibitions
Feel the rain on your skin
No one else can feel it for you
Only you can let it in
No one else, no one else
Can speak the words on your lips
Drench yourself in words unspoken
Live your life with arms wide open
Today is where your book begins
Feel the rain on your skin
No one else can feel it for you
Only you can let it in
No one else, no one else
Can speak the words on your lips
Drench yourself in words unspoken
Live your life with arms wide open
Today is where your book begins
The rest is still unwritten
The rest is still unwritten

A photo I captured on the Blarney Castle grounds during my first trip to Ireland 🍀

I hadn’t heard it in decades! I remembered that song being on the radio A LOT when it was first released, and yet I didn’t really pay attention to the words.

The song has such a great message: You have the power to create YOUR life.

I love the following lines:

We’ve been conditioned
To not make mistakes
But I can’t live that way, no, oh

Where did this idea of being “perfect” come from? No one is perfect, and no one ever will be perfect.

We all mistakes, and as long as we learn from those mistakes, they are valuable.

Mistakes can help us learn how to be our BEST selves!

Spider-Man: Brand New Day illustrates the consequences of holding onto mistakes rather than learning from them. Without giving away anything, we can see how the characters in the film can use the power derived from being their authentic selves to make a positive difference.

What mistake have you been holding onto that you need to learn from and let go of?

May you remember the worth and power you have just because you are YOU!💜

If you’d like to support my mission to share my passion for music with the world and spread joy, love, and positivity, you can do so here. Thank you so much! 💚
