Prior to this performance, I was just doing covers and some of my original songs for Live Music in the Lounge at WESLI. So, last Thursday’s opportunity for me to perform ONLY my original songs in a PUBLIC PLACE was huge for me!!!
My show was at The Froth House, an awesome coffee house on the near West side of Madison, that sells delicious food and drinks and is filled with an easygoing atmosphere.

At this show, I got to open for the talented Jimmy Murn, of Jimmy Murn and the HeyMakers.

It was a complete honor to open for Jimmy Murn because he is an amazing peformer! He is a talented singer and guitarist with great energy, he is an absolute wordsmith, and he can write songs on the spot! Truly incredible! Blog post about Jimmy soon to come 😉

My show at The Froth House was truly an amazing experience! It was so incredible to perform my songs in front of others (as sharing my music with the world has always been my dream!). But, this experience was also scary.
Anna Nalick says in her song “Breathe (2 am)”, “And I feel like I’m naked in front of the crowd cause these words are my diary, screaming out loud, and I know that you’ll use them, however you want to.”
These lyrics describe how I felt during my performance. All of my songs are about real life. Some of them are painful and very personal. I don’t know what people are going to think or think of me when they hear my songs. But I do know that there are people out there who can relate to each of the songs that I have written, and for that reason, I want to be brave and share my songs 🙂
I’m so happy that I finally got to perform my own music! I know each time I perform it will become less and less scary 🙂
When’s my next show? Well I’d LOVE to do another show very soon!! But I feel like I should really finish my album first 😉
