Goodbye 2016. Hello 2017!

Every year is filled with both wonderful things and challenges. At the end of the year, it is extremely important to think about what you have learned from the challenges and focus on all of the wonderful things that have happened to you throughout the year.

I wanted to share with you some highlights from this year.

January

I submitted my new song, “The Hardest Thing” to the 2016 NPR Tiny Desk Contest. You can read the post about that, here.

In my post, “Taking the Road Less Traveled,” I shared with you that I started Allison Merten Editing & Tutoring, LLC so that I could keep music a part of my life and also ensure that I am filling my life with things that I love. ❤

I performed at Bos Meadery for the first time, AND it was my first time providing entertainment for the opening of an art exhibit! Read about this performance, here.

I shared with you my newest song that promotes awareness of the different types of violence against women as well as peacefully working together to defend women’s rights in order to overcome this violence,  “Mistreat a Woman.”

December

This was the third year that I participated in the  “December Challenge,” and posted a cover of a Christmas Carol each week of December up until Christmas.
